Dynamic Haze
The light shines through the haze, the water flows, the wind blows. Beyond boundaries, abstract, distorted, indefinable. It is suggesting a combination of virtual and real between lines and dots.
Gong Art Gallery is pleased to present our group show opening on November 17th in Newport Beach, CA. Our group exhibition- Dynamic Haze features five L.A.-based artists. The work includes painting, sculpture, and ceramic.
Bill Chen. Was born in Sichuan Province, China in 1994, In (2017), graduated from Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, School of Art Education, Bachelor of Art Education, In 2021, graduated from Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, School of Plastic Arts, Master of Oil Painting Art.
Kai Chan. Kai Chan graduated from Camberwell College of Arts in London, major in BA illustration, and currently studying MA FineArt at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. She has been a commercial illustrator for over ten years; clients she works with include Madame Figaro HK, Elle HK, and SAVVY magazine in Japan, etc. Companies such as Christie’s Auction House, Cathay Pacific, L’Oréal, rOtring, Nina Hotel, Viu TV and kapok, etc.
Shuai Xu is a Chinese Artist currently based in Los Angeles. His works focus on the invisible world, and much of his inspiration comes from his dreams. He is interested in humanity relationships to the cosmos, particularly as it plays out here on Earth, in the relationship between individuals and nature. He hopes to explore his interior world more deeply while expanding outward, to engage society and beyond.
Sigrid Qian is a mixed-media artist and painter based in California. She has received a BFA degree from Art Center College of design. She works with mixed media most of the time. She likes to combine traditional oil painting techniques with expressive brush strokes, and experimenting with the visual effects between different materials. Such as resin, acrylic board, plaster, found objects, and house paints.
Suhey Ellas. Born in Pasadena, California, but raised in Altadena, California. A small yet welcoming neighborhood. In 2022, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting at Otis College of Art and Design. Having to live in a reality where the existence of having a learning disability, losing her mother to cancer, and struggling with a low income is
sometimes overwhelming, but these are the things that motivate her to be stronger and bolder
when it comes to her living her artistic dreams and completing her life’s goals.
Yumeng Zhang, was born in Hebei, China. She graduated from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts (TAFA) with a Bachelor's degree in Comprehensive Painting and earned an MFA degree from Claremont Graduate University. Her works attempt to describe the world from a subjective perspective as much as possible, striving to move beyond what she sees around her. Her inspiration comes from the changes that occur in her life. Women, identity, nature, memory and subconscious are all subjects she can relate to.
The opening reception will be held from 5-8 pm, Thursday, NOV 17th, 2022.
